This Saturday night! Join The Repressions and such a fine lineup for a very good cause!
Venus Envy Artist Coalition and Astoria Music Collective present: FEMbruary: A Series of Fundraisers in support of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York!
This Friday is going to be very special… The Dolphin Bookshop has a magic that surrounds you before you realize it. The Repressions will play in the stage/ seating/cafe area, with a beautiful bookshop to the right, more books and toys to the left, original art and color all around… It is not just “one” kind of place, and therefore inspiring and imperceptibly comfortable. No cover charge and all ages are welcome… The music begins at 7pm!
Art is completely unpredictable… and also requires a lot of careful planning and organization… So here have the next four invites now, we cannot wait to see you at these shows!
This is a lovely way to connect with artists around the country, please enjoy this new offering of artists and a live acoustic performance of The Repressions song “Medicate Me.” Live premiere on Youtube Saturday January 4 at 1pm Eastern Standard Time.
Last year Nate and Barbara celebrated New Year’s Eve with merriment and music, and a video for their song Bright Lights. They decided to make this a tradition, and this year the lyrics are on screen. Bright Lights is a journey of love and change, reconciling our natural selves in the modern world, and leaping into your life even when you cannot see.
The Repressions are grateful to have played so many live shows in 2019, including the NYC Veggie Pride Parade in Union Square and Kingston Animalia Concert at BSP Kingston! Thank you to these terrific New York venues and events: The Local, Espresso 77, East Village Social, Irish Whiskey Bar, Union Square Park, Make Music New York, Jack Jones, Dolphin Bookshop & Cafe, Belvedere, LIC Bar, Kumon Awards Ceremony, Athens Square Park, RaR Bar, Shore Fest, Uke Hut, BSP Kingston, The Way Station, The Quays, Shillelagh Tavern, The Mad Donkey, and Marine Terrace. Special thanks to photographer Patrick Merino (he took the fine professional images here,) John Cavaliere and Zack Dash for filming, photographing and always being there, Ben Olson, The AR Community and Astoria Music Collective, our neighborhood musical family! There is much more to come in the new year!
