The Repressions’ song “Trust Your Doors” is the official entry for NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest 2025! This is a song about the difficulty of making changes, for even the best changes to our lives are not easy.
This contest features independent artists and is a lovely showcase of songwriting, and desks! A new tiny Repressions desk and all of the previous customized tiny desks can be seen in between the color scheme. Thank you for watching!
110 live shows, 2 single releases, 22 music videos, 2 podcasts, 1 radio show, 1 video game music collaboration, new venues, new friends, and a whirlwind mini tour… 2024 was a very good year for The Repressions.
There are many highlights, including the Bright Lights video, recording with Stunshine Music, playing at The American Federation of Musicians NYC for the first time, collaborating with Aligned Alchemy, Juilliard Extension Recitals, playing for Plant Powered Disruptors, the Festival of the Mewz in Kentucky, and sharing the stages with over 40 bands and artists in just one year.
2025 will see a big 10th anniversary show, a full album release, and much more. Barbara and Nate would like to thank everyone who attends shows, supports on Patreon, streams the music, joins on Twitch, follows and subscribes, buys merch, and offers support in so many ways. Onward we go to the next big show!

Hello friends! While Barbara is recovering from sugery for the next few months, Nate will be performing solo shows. You can catch him with Plant Powered Disruptors at Urban Vegan Roots on Friday November 8th. You can also join, watch, and make requests from home twice a week on Twitch. Twitch is free to watch from anywhere in the world with an internet connection, and a lot of fun. You can lurk and listen while you do your chores, or join the friendly people in chat, and choose from hundreds of requests for Nate, every Tuesday evening and Saturday afternoon.
Barbara says hello, and she is looking forward to performing again when she is fully recovered. There will be plenty of Repressions’ content releasing on YouTube, Spotify, Tiktok, and more before the big comeback show. Until then, she is so grateful to her wonderful friends and family, and Nate, for their support.
