That Guy (Miguel’s Song) – Astoria Music Collective Fundraiser for Miguel Hernandez

New song and YouTube video today!

Miguel Hernandez is the founder and solo art machine behind Astoria Music Collective. Miguel has fallen ill and the community is coming together to help him and his family come through. Like the song says, Miguel loves everybody, genuinely, and is just the coolest, sweetest person, aside from all of the support and hard work he does on behalf of artists. We all love Miguel, and we all have a story about something wonderful he did for us. Give at this link if you can, GO FUNDE ME for Miguel or attend one of the live fundraising shows all month. There are cool raffles and great performances awaiting you.

The Repressions will be dedicating their Tuesday March 12 Twitch show to Miguel. Follow Astoria Music Collective for the details on amazing music, community, and support. We all love that guy.

STARPOOL ~ New Video on YouTube today

New YouTube video today! Starpool is a song about using your imagination to help you through hardships. We cannot knock over every obstacle in our path, but what if we could fly over or around it instead?

Filmed live at Alewife in Sunnyside, Queens, NYC, with Astoria Music Collective.

Queens of Chaos Show~ 3.4.23

The Queens of Chaos show was a smash!

Thank you to Chaos Pixie for organizing the event, and playing that high energy music, along with cool and soulful artists Carissa Johnson and Step Neck! There were two extra crowds at the venue from earlier in the day that stayed for the show~ and The Repressions would like to think that their cover of the Pokemon theme song helped bring everyone together. It was a raucous night of inclusion, community and music!

Oh my god we’re back again

The Repressions are back to the in-person stage after two years of livestreaming-only, with two shows in July (7/13 and 7/30.) Folk Punk Show! 1/16

Folk-punk is a term that we hear often to describe the band, and we say that makes as much sense as all of the the genres we jump to. We’ll be playing with cool cats Sam Rasiotis and JW Farrell next week, who both bring the noise and passion, and so The Repressions will be dedicating this set to the faster, rambunctious songs. Jump with us!

The showcase is hosted by the talented Jimmy Artache and promises to feature other cool local artists. No cover charge, just wild and soft music right near the 30th Avenue Subway stop in glorious Astoria. Hope to see you there!
