The Shows of June 2024

What a marvelous month of music! June was flutteringly full of music, every day was a live show, a Twitch show, a recording session, piano and voice classes, open mics, videos, and putting artwork together for our new Song Title Storybook. This was New York Music Month, and The Repressions certainly particicpated. Thank you to The Local Hostels Hotel, Ronny Kornfeld, Jasmine Sandler, American Federation of Musicians, Afzal Hussain, Jedi Nitemare, Plant Powered Disruptors and everyone who came out to watch! July shows begin this week, Wednesday July 3rd at LIC Bar! Here are some highlights from June:

Youtube has six new videos so far, including the new song “That Guy” our tribute to Miguel of Astoria Music Collective.

What a fantastic Welcome Back to the Live Stage! Many thanks to the crowd at LIC Bar and the wonderful friends who came out. Excellent performances by Alexander Bishop and Elliot Greer, a warm atmosphere and an amazing crowd!

Oh my god we’re back again

The Repressions are back to the in-person stage after two years of livestreaming-only, with two shows in July (7/13 and 7/30.) First up, you are invited to LIC Bar in Long Island City, Queens, an open, relaxing venue that is a constant for terrific live indie music. On Wednesday July 13th, The Repressions join Alexander Bishop (8pm) and Elliot Greer (10pm) and will take the stage at 9pm. Admission is free, feelings will be felt and there are so many songs to share!

The Vibe Show featuring 4 Duos!

What a fantastic show! Many thanks to 4 Brown Eyes, Sidecar Studios and Astoria Music Collective for including us with these incredible duos. 4 Brown Eyes streams live here on Facebook every week, with showcases on Saturdays. Hot Glue and The Gun give you a music and art experience, check out the Gluey Zoomy Show on their YouTube channel. No Grudges just released their first single “Put It Together” on all music streaming services. Listen, follow, watch these duos, they are doing amazing work!

Saturday 2/20, The Repressions are performing on facebook live as part of The Vibe with 4 Brown Eyes, sponsored by Astoria Music Collective. Saturday is a full night of four bands that are duos and couples, see what happens when music and love entwine! Featuring 4 Brown Eyes, Hot Glue and The Gun, No Grudges! The Repressions are excited to perform (even virtually for now) with these fantastic bands!

Twitchy Tuesday!

The Repressions are adding another live stream music show to their Twitch schedule! They will now be performing live every Tuesday night in addition to Fridays, and the bi-monthly Wednesday evening Nate solo shows. Please follow the band on their Twitch channel to be notified for any other impromptu streams, join the live chat, say hello and connect, it is quite fun!
