Astoria Music Collective presents The Repressions Halloween at DK PubLIC! Three hours of costumes, prizes, dreams, great drinks, original songs and cover songs for all moods and weather. It will be colorful, lively, welcoming, and musical. We’ll be dressing to the moon and back and awarding prizes for your costumes. Each month, this series will alternate between the two cities, with NY bands first hosting visiting Asbury Park bands in NYC, and then the reverse the following month in Asbury Park. 🎶🎵

Bring your gorgeous self, and bring your songs if you want to play too! Our set starts at 4, sign up for players is at 2:30. It’s going to be a great time.
Friday October 2nd, The Repressions return to Espresso 77, a perfect start to the Autumn season. The atmosphere and crowd at E77 is always stellar. We hope you can join!
No cover, all ages, original songs and cover songs for every mood. It’s such a lovely place, with ample seating and soft lighting, perfect to relax with coffee, tea, wine, food, art, and music.

Sunday September 6th, we join Eddie D and The Guarantee for a wonderful evening of original indie music at Lucky! We’ll be soloing and scatting with Eddie D on his song “High Temperature,” and Eddie will be joining us on our song “Followcat.” Check our YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels for a sneak preview from rehearsal with a lovely three part harmony.
Lucky is a friendly bar and community event space featuring seasonal cocktails and a backyard garden, located in downtown New York City.
Tommorrow we’re seeing double, and playing our hearts out in two cool venues. Not one, but TWO big shows on Saturday 8/29. Join us in the afternoon and evening! We’re playing Culture Lab in LIC with Yes Cats, Riko and Whaler Collective, and Strangely Enough… then riding high to Espresso 77 for another shining solo show. One day, two wonderful places, and so much music!
Each of these Saturday shows are All Ages, with no cover charge.

The Repressions join some of New York’s finest songwriters for a summer concert in Athens Square Park! This is a free, family friendly show in the heart of Astoria, Queens!
The Repressions are playing at 2:30pm on the Cowgirl Seahorse Stage, at the 2026 Porch Stomp Music Festival! Saturday June 20th… this is a free, all ages show with 18 stages, with hundreds of acoustic perfomers of all genres. Details on transportation, food, stage maps, and participation are available on the Porch Stomp website. The Cowgirl Seahorse Stage is #1 on the map below. We are so excited to play with this wonderful lineup! Hope to see you there!

Saturday, June 20th 10 am – 6 pm
On June 20th, Governors Island will transform into an open-air venue featuring over two hundred folk bands, artists, and performing arts organizations coming together for one day of collaborative musical performances, dancing and more.
At Porch Stomp, you’ll hear traditional folk music to old-time, blues, cajun, Irish, bluegrass and Americana songs celebrated through the synergistic playing of singers and musicians wielding fiddles, banjos, mandolins, guitars and accordions.
All are welcome to join in the event, which is just a quick ferry ride from lower Manhattan or Brooklyn. Whether you’re there to sing or play along or simply explore, there’s something for everyone as all parts of Governors island, from Nolan Park, Colonels Row, and Liggett Terrace, will host activities such as old-time, bluegrass, and Irish music jams, contra and square dances and much more.
Each “stage” or porch is curated and produced by an arts organization or local venue that supports traditional arts, and will represent a specific folk community in New York City. Beer and cider will be available for purchase at Threes Brewing, and food and other beverages will be available for purchase courtesy of Little Eva’s, both located in Liggett Terrace. 2026 partners include Sunny’s Bar, The Jalopy Theater and School of Music, Brooklyn Contra, Cowgirl Seahorse, The Folk Music Society of New York, Peoples’ Voice Cafe, and others.
