Bright Lights, and A Wild New Year! For the past two years Nate and Barbara celebrated New Year’s Eve with merriment and music, and a video for their song Bright Lights. This year features a performance of their song from their live stream show, the nature of live art made possible by the wildness of technology.
Bright Lights is a journey of love and change, reconciling our natural selves in the modern world, nature against and with machinery, and leaping into your life even when you cannot see. Happy New Year Friends. Thank you for being here again.
Just over a year ago, two talented and compassionate music makers, Geno Maurillo and Michael Blow, founded an online group of vegan musicians, singers, songwriters, and videographers who are also vegan. The group quickly grew into hundreds of talented people from around the world, and now they have started their own YouTube channel to showcase these artists.
The Vegan Music Makers, in their words, “come from a love-based approach in hopes of helping to positively evolve the planet.” That means every video on this channel is by an artist who truly cares about animals, the environment and people, and they are living according to their values. It is wonderful company to keep, and The Repressions are very proud to be one of the first featured videos!
Visit the page to hear more from Geno Maurillo, David Giardina, Sophia Fletcher, Joe Deere and much more!
Many weeks in quarantine and life disrupted and derailed have affected us all so deeply~ a new emotional wave persists: What is coming? What will the new after be? Do we wait for it, search for it, or create it? This song is called To The After.
This festival was sadly cancelled, but the show went on, with dozens of performers, speakers and cool cats contributing. The full parade can be found in three installments on Veggie Pride Parade NYC’s new Youtube channel. Here is the sing-along video from part 2 by The Repressions:
The Repressions are so very honored to have won Best Original Song in the February Vegan Music Makers celebration, for their song “We Are the Strange Ones!”
Vegan Music Makers is a wonderful uplifting community founded in California by Geno Maurillo and Michael Blow. Find and follow the group on Facebook, and add these other artists to your playlist!
This means a lot, voted from a group of musical artists from all genres and walks of life, with the one common thread being a respect for animals and their freedom. Good company and very good music!
The Repressions Castle, to the mortal eye may look like a tiny NYC apartment, but it is a one stop art house… too bad the ideas come faster than the time it takes to finish them. Enjoy some new memes, comics and song lyric illustrations…
