Friday October 2nd, The Repressions return to Espresso 77, a perfect start to the Autumn season. The atmosphere and crowd at E77 is always stellar. We hope you can join!

Tommorrow we’re seeing double, and playing our hearts out in two cool venues. Not one, but TWO big shows on Saturday 8/29. Join us in the afternoon and evening! We’re playing Culture Lab in LIC with Yes Cats, Riko and Whaler Collective, and Strangely Enough… then riding high to Espresso 77 for another shining solo show. One day, two wonderful places, and so much music!
Each of these Saturday shows are All Ages, with no cover charge.

Janani Venkaratamanan — A foodservice professional and grassroots activist who’s been volunteering with The Humane League and other organizations since 2022. Janani is passionate about corporate campaigns and legislative advocacy, and is on a mission to grow the animal rights volunteer base right here in NYC.
Diana The Vegan — Works with a local dog rescue organization and moonlights as a vegan comedian! Come for the animal advocacy, stay for the laughs.
Felicitas Oefelein — Will share her experience with cat fostering and the crucial practice of trap & release.
Mian Osumi with Voters For Animal Rights will share about building political power for animals. Come learn how the ballot box can be a powerful tool for animal protection!

It has been a very busy October! Lots of live shows in NYC, Barbara’s piano mid-term at Juilliard Extension, an upcoming Halloween show on Twitch, and of course, attending the Chelsea Film Festival as our song “We Are The Strange Ones” is featured in Friends Not Food. We’re trying to post at least one video from every live show this year on YouTube, and you can find the shorts and reels on Tiktok, Instagram and more for the short versions. This week it’s “Ophelia’s Song” live at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn. We had an amzing time playing there. Video and link below. Such a fantastic month!
